Jury Selection Begins In Craigslist Slaying

SHAKOPEE, Minn. (AP) ― Jury selection begins Monday in the trial of a Savage man accused of posting a false ad for a baby sitter on craigslist and then killing a 24-year-old woman who answered the posting.

Michael John Anderson is charged with first-degree premeditated murder. His trial in Scott County District Court could last more than a month.

He's accused of killing Katherine Ann Olson on Oct. 25, 2007.

Authorities say Anderson posted the phony ad then lured Olson to her death, shooting her in the back. Olson's body was found in the trunk of her car the next day.

Anderson has pleaded not guilty. His attorneys say the shooting was accidental and that he possibly suffers from a type of autism and developmental disability.
