Man With 365 Child Porn Charges Pleads Guilty

MOORHEAD, Minn. (AP) ― The prosecutor says he'll ask for 12 years in prison for a Moorhead man who pleaded guilty to 15 counts of possessing child pornography.

Kerry Alan Ronning had faced a total of 365 charges after authorities searched his home in 2006. Court records say they found more than 17,000 images of suspected child pornography on his computer.

Clay County Attorney Brian Melton says charges were filed in connection with images of children authorities could confirm were younger than 18.

Judge Michael Kirk deferred acceptance of Ronning's guilty pleas pending a presentence investigation.

Sentencing is set for November 3rd. Remaining charges are to be dismissed at sentencing.

Ronning's attorney, Bob Hoy, declined comment Wednesday.
