Man Pleads Guilty To Carjacking, Firearms Charges
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) ―
A 24-year-old Lino Lakes is pleading guilty to federal charges after a violent spree in Minnesota and Wisconsin in August left one man shot.
Prosecutors say Daine J. A. Linderman pleaded guilty Wednesday to carjacking, using a firearm in a violent crime and being a felon in possession of firearms.
Linderman's plea agreement says the incident started August 24 when Linderman fled police in Hudson, Wisconsin, who were trying to arrest him on an unrelated charge.
The chase proceeded into Minnesota, where Linderman crashed his vehicle then fled on foot. He entered a home in Lakeland and tried to steal a couple's car at gunpoint.
The man wrestled Linderman's rifle away and pinned him to the ground, but during the struggle he was shot in the lower back with Linderman's pistol.
At that point, police arrived and arrested Linderman.
Linderman could be sentenced to life in prison on the federal charges, but a spokesman for the U.S. attorney in Minnesota says the plea agreement entered Wednesday says sentencing will be delayed until cases against Linderman in state courts in Minnesota and Wisconsin are resolved.
