A Columbia Heights man has been charged with killing his girlfriend's ex-boyfriend outside his home in Blaine.
Twenty-three-year-old Nicholas Allen Holm is charged in Anoka County with second-degree intentional murder in the shooting death of 26-year-old Jacob Henry Francis Bird.
Authorities arrested Holm and Bird's ex-girlfriend Monday night following the shooting. The ex-girlfriend has been released from jail and is not charged.
Prosecutors allege that Holm shot Bird after a weeks' long dispute. Authorities said Bird was harassing his ex-girlfriend. Holm allegedly shot Bird several times. He told officials he shot in self-defense.
