Man Shot In Beltrami Co. On Tuesday Dies
ST. PAUL (WCCO) ―
A man who was shot in Beltrami County on Tuesday morning died of his injuries on Thursday.
The Beltrami County Sheriff's Office says 27-year-old Matthew David Albert, of Kelliher, Minn., suffered a gunshot wound to the head just after 10 a.m. Tuesday.
The shooting happened at a residence in Shooks Township. Albert was alive but unconscious when rescue crews transported him via air ambulance to North Memorial Medical Center, where he was listed in very critical condition on Tuesday.
The sheriff said Albert never regained consciousness and was ultimately pronounced dead on Thursday.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner will investigate the cause and manner of death, but the sheriff said they are investigating a .22 caliber six-shooter that was removed from the scene of Albert's shooting.
The sheriff described the revolver as a blue "Heritage Arms" model with a wooden grip. Anyone with any information about the gun or the shooting is asked to call 218-333-9111.
