Baby Delivered After Being Shot In Alleged Dispute

ST. PAUL (WCCO) ― St. Paul Police are investigating after a pregnant woman was shot and forced into early labor early Sunday morning.

According to police, the shooting happened at about 1:20 a.m. on the 1700 block of Case Avenue. Several shots were fired through an apartment door hitting three victims.

Police said it appears the shooting happened after a possible dispute involving a 20-year-old woman who was seven months pregnant.

The woman's baby was also hit by the gunfire. The child was delivered and, according to police, is expected to survive.

Additionally, the woman's boyfriend was also hit by gunfire. He was taken to Regions Hospital along with the woman and her baby. Police said all three underwent surgery and are in serious condition.
