A Woodbury teen accused of plotting to cut out the heart of a stranger is no longer charged with attempted murder.
Judge Elizabeth Martin has granted a defense motion to dismiss the charge against 19-year-old Andrew Busskohl, citing lack of probable cause.
Busskohl was charged last August with attempted burglary, felony harassment and criminal damage to property. He then was charged in September with attempted murder.
Busskohl, who received a heart transplant in 2003, was accused of plotting to break into a stranger's house, murder him and take out his heart. The act was never carried out.
A jury trial is scheduled for May 18, but attorneys for both sides say they hope to resolve the case before then.
