Teens Charged In NW Minn. Arson Case

FOSSTON, Minn. (AP) ― Two Fosston men are charged with first-degree arson in a string of fires that burned buildings in northwestern Minnesota.

Levi Coyer and Nick Schouviller, both 19 years old, were arrested Friday in Fosston.

The August 3rd fires damaged and, in some cases, destroyed vacant houses, historic town halls and an outbuilding. The fires were set in Mahnomen, Polk and Clearwater counties. No one was hurt in the five fires.

Coyer and Schouviller also are charged with conspiracy to commit arson and burglary in the second degree for entering a Polk County residence.

A Polk County District Court judge set bail at $150,000 each. As of Tuesday morning, Coyer and Schouviller remained in the Northwest Regional Corrections Center in Crookston.
