Minn. Man Gets 150 Years For Child Rape

WATERTOWN, S.D. (AP) ― A former Watertown man has been sentenced to 150 years in the state penitentiary after being found guilty of raping a minor.

Matthew Borchert, who lists his address as Nassau, Minn., was sentenced in Codington County to a pair of 75-year prison terms for two counts of first-degree rape. The terms will be served consecutively.

The 30-year-old Borchert was accused of raping a girl who was 7 and 8 years old, at his Watertown home over several months in 2007. He was convicted in June.

Borchert maintains his innocence.

Nassau is about 180 miles west of Minneapolis.
