Personal Income Essentially Flat In Minn. In 4Q
ST. PAUL (AP) ―
Personal income in Minnesota during the fourth quarter of last year was essentially flat once inflation was factored in.
Minnesota's situation was similar to other states around the nation in figures released Wednesday by the federal Commerce Department.
The state's income picture looked better was taken as a whole. For the year, Minnesotan's per capital income grew a healthy 5.6 percent to $41,034.
Nationally, Minnesota is now ranked 11th in per capita income. Wisconsin ranks 25th at $36,047.
The Commerce Department released figures Thursday showing the overall economy sputtered in fourth quarter as well.
From October-to-December, the economy grew just over half a percent. That was way down from nearly 5 percent growth in the prior quarter.
