The Taste of Minnesota, the state's second most popular festival, is being sold.
The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports that a purchase agreement was signed Wednesday and that ownership will change hands a month from now -- after this year's Taste festival, this weekend on Harriet Island.
The new owners are Brian Turner, a radio host on Cities 97, and event promoter Kevin Campbell. They are keeping the sale price confidential until closing.
The 25-year-old festival is owned by Capital City Partnership. Officials there didn't comment to the Pioneer Press.
Turner said he wants to bring more big-name entertainment to the event, from bands to celebrity chefs. He said he also wants to serve less fair-style food and instead showcase more of the region's restaurants and locally grown food.
