Honeywell To Close Maple Grove Plant
MAPLE GROVE, Minn. (WCCO) ―
On Thursday night, Honeywell announced it plans to close its Maple Grove plant.
About 70 people will be out of a job because of the closure. The plant makes fire alarm systems and other products.
According to a Honeywell spokesperson, most of the manufacturing work done at Maple Grove plant will be transferred to the company's facility in Northford, Conn.
The spokesperson said the first nine jobs will be eliminated July 17 and the rest will be cut through October. About 40 people work in non-manufacturing jobs in Maple Grove, such as engineering, sales and administration, and they'll be transferred to other area offices.
