American Crystal Sugar has again reduced the percentage of so-called "at risk" acres that might be left in the ground this fall.
Growers now are being told they can harvest all but five percent of this year's crop.
That's down from a 15 percent target that was forecast earlier.
Last year, high yields prompted American Crystal to destroy eight percent of the beet crop, or about 40,000 acres.
Company officials say they'll continue to monitor the harvest to see if this year's figure can be lowered even more.
