The company that owns the school bus on the Interstate 35W bridge when it collapsed two years ago is suing the structure's inspector and a repair company.
The First Student Inc. bus was carrying more than 50 children on a field trip when it fell at least 30 feet. None of the passengers were killed and most escaped serious injury.
First Student says URS Corp. of San Francisco, Calif., was negligent in inspecting the integrity of the bridge. The company says Progressive Contractors Inc. was also negligent in its work on the bridge.
First Student wants to recover more than $30,000, plus interest, for damages to the school bus.
The collapse killed 13 people and injured another 145.

The National Transportation Safety Board report in November 2008 determined the bridge's gusset plates were too thin and likely caused the bridge to fall into the Mississippi River shortly after 6 p.m. on Aug. 1, 2007.
