Photojournalists

Tony Peterson

Tony Peterson has had many jobs, trying everything from law enforcement to professional wrestling. He was hired as a photojournalist for WCCO-TV in 2002.

Tony said he was hooked on photojournalism after riding along with a photographer in Palm Springs, Calif.

He loves to tell stories and being a voyeur of life.

He also HATES monotony, so he loves to run around and chase the latest news, where every day is different.

Tony loves everyone he's had the chance to interview, from four U.S. Presidents to the homeless person in the street. The funniest interview was when a bunch of other photographers rushed upon Minnesota Twins coach Ron Gardenhire. Gardenhire stopped in the middle of a press conference in the locker room to tell Tony to get out of his equipment bag. Tony had no idea he was in the bag! Tony recalls the experience as embarrassing, but funny to get yelled at by the coach.

Tony was born and raised in Minnesota, but half of his heart remains in California where he lived for several years before moving back to "the tundra".

He has three daughters and in his free time writes screenplays. He really hopes to sell one of those screenplays one of these days.
