Kerry McNally
Kerry McNally joined the WCCO Morning Show as traffic reporter in 2009 following a long and multifaceted career that included stints in the military, home shopping, the thea-
tah, voiceover work, and stand-up comedy.
Kerry began his broadcasting career in Japan with the Armed Forces Radio and Television Service. While active as a U.S. Marine, he served as the Morning Show Host and News Anchor for the Far East Network in Okinawa.
In his time with the military, Kerry earned three letters of appreciation, two Meritorious Masts, a Good Conduct Medal, a Sea Service Deployment Ribbon and an Honorable Discharge while serving overseas and at home.
Upon returning to New York, Kerry hosted and produced the number one morning show in the Hamptons, winning a New York State Broadcaster's Award. All the while, he worked with CBS News legend Paul Lockwood on the award-winning Peconic Magazine. Kerry was also the host of the groundbreaking "Shop & Style" talk show on NBC and "Rocket Challenge" on the Discovery Channel and TLC. Kerry also proved a popular primetime host on ShopNBC.
Kerry has performed on the stage as a principal actor with the Hampton Theater Company. And as an accomplished writer and stand-up comedian, Kerry has performed regularly at The Comic Strip Live in New York and the Acme Comedy Club in Minneapolis. He has opened for Ray Romano, Chris Rock, Greg Geraldo, Jim Bruer, Macio, Tony Rock, Buddy Bolton and Tom Cotter.
One of his favorite jokes: "So, I was dating this eye doctor for awhile and the really cool thing about dating a really hot lady optometrist is that we would be making out and she would ask, 'Is it better now ... or now? Do you like it like this ... or like this?'"
Kerry said he is excited to join the WCCO Morning Show because they have the best ersatz, self-stocked, DIY craft services table in the business. He looks forward to gaining those pesky five pounds.
