Reporters
Heather Brown
Heather Brown came to WCCO-TV in May 2006 from the heart of South Carolina.
For
two and a half years, Heather worked at WIS-TV in Columbia, S.C. Some
of her most memorable experiences included covering the 2004 S.C.
Democratic Presidential Primary, reporting on the aftermath of
Hurricane Katrina from Biloxi, Miss. and following the death of a
Marine recruit at Parris Island.
Heather also wrote and
produced an award-winning education series that helped students get
school supplies needed in many South Carolina classrooms.
Heather
was born just outside of Philadelphia. Her mom, dad and two huge Great
Danes still live there. She graduated with honors from Colgate
University, so cold winters are nothing new!
After college,
Heather packed her bags for Los Angeles where she worked at CNBC
producing business news stories. She spent almost two years on the west
coast before heading back east to Boston. In 2003, she earned a
master's degree in public policy from the Kennedy School of Government
at Harvard University.
A six-marathon vet, Heather loves to run
and will do just about any outdoor sport you throw at her, but give her
a good book and she'll likely disappear for hours.
