Darcy Pohland
Darcy Pohland is a 20-year veteran of WCCO-TV. She worked her way through the ranks to become one of the few quadriplegic TV reporters in the country.
Darcy broke her neck in the summer of 1983 when she dove into the shallow end of swimming pool. With support and encouragement from friends, family, medical personnel and WCCO-TV staffers, she has built the career she always dreamed of but thought impossible after her accident.
The University of Minnesota is one of her regular beats along with Minneapolis city government related issues.
As a general assignment reporter she's responsible for covering everything from crime to feature stories
She attended George Washington University in Washington D.C. and graduated from the U of M.
Darcy is a huge Golden Gopher sports and die-hard Vikings fan.
The hometown girl grew up in Mendota Heights and graduated from Sibley High School.
